Mailman Bodri

Bodri mailed the letters in the boxes in the schoolnaberhood. They announce that the schoolstreet is closed for all cars tomorrow, due to the walk and bike day.

We started today the second year: flags, anthems, mascot. We looked back at the first year by seeing the dances performed by our friends in Europe.

The Adventures of Krteček

Since children are not in school during summer months, Krteček become sad and very homesick. So he decide to visit his real home.

Sometimes it was not easy, the backpack was bigger as Krteček himself, way was long and dangerous. But Krteček has got good friends and eventually the trip was wonderful and the little mole became happy. He saw the beautiful Krkonoše mountains and waterfalls. Even the place, where its way starts one of the major rivers of Europe - the river Elbe (Labe in Czech).

Summer in Latvia

Our students enjoying their holidays and the teachers as well.

And this summer is beautiful, especially in such beautiful places as Rose garden at Rundale Palace. (There are more than 13000 rose plants, part of them from the 18th century collection)

Krteček Participated in Jāņi Festival

Jāņi is a Latvian festival held in the night from 23 June to 24 June to celebrate the summer solstice, the shortest night and longest day of the year. The day of Līgo (23 June) and the day of Jāņi (24 June) are public holidays, and people usually spend them in the countryside. The festival's eve is held in the evening of 23 June and goes on all through the night.

Men wear an oak leaf wreaths and girls wear a meadow flower wreaths.

Beer and homemade caraway cheese is traditional meal at Jāņi festival.

Bonfire must be kept until sunrise. And traditionally sometimes people jump over it :)

KOKI goes on an excursion

Graders 4th A and B took Koki to the riverside and they all had a lovely time.
